The only surprise was that for some reason I couldn't get my ultegra rim brakes to reach the rim. I had a choice to get long arm tektra rim brakes out get v brake extender adapters. I chose the latter. I'm looking at your pictures. I wonder why your frame allowed a regular rear rim brake but mine wouldn't
