Here is a high quality 16 inch kids bike, which comes stock with 305 wheels. It has good components and a lightweight frame, which makes it ideal for upgrading.
Practically all 16 inch kids bikes come as a single speed setup, with no multi-speed setups available as a stock bike. Therefore, I modified the drivetrain to use a Nexus Inter-3 rear hub, to provide a wider gear range for riding different gradients.
How is the install going? My kid will be transitioning out of his seeker 14 so I might follow your path.
