Continuing from the first part of this new Hylix seat post, let's see how I can make it work, while waiting for the replacement parts to arrive.
The saddle clamp from the original BBB seat post does not fit, but I did have another seat post which I can borrow the clamp from. It is the Litepro A61 seat post, which uses a similar design for the saddle clamp.
Litepro A61 seat post. What I need to borrow are the two parts shown at the top.
48 grams for the saddle clamp parts
Here is how it looks, with a combination of parts from different seat posts. Note that the saddle is now positioned quite a bit more forward, since there is now zero offset.
Adjustment is always tricky for this design, as the Allen key goes very near to the seat post.

Seat post after cutting weighs only 82 grams!
With the shorter seat post and the DIY saddle clamp, the total weight of the seat post is just 130 grams, which is really lightweight.
Di2 battery fits inside the seat post.
A rubber plug is used to secure the Di2 battery inside the seat post.
The Di2 battery goes inside the rubber plug, which is then pushed into the seat post.
Di2 battery installed inside the seat post! The tightness is good, it means it will not slide out over time.
The replacement rods have arrived, as seen on the right. The left side rod is the previous faulty part which have slanted holes.
With the new Hylix seat post, I could finally position my saddle correctly, instead of sitting too far back. This new seat post is not as robust though, as the saddle clamp mechanism is rather lightweight. However, I don't really have a choice, as there are just too few options for good 25.4 mm seat posts.
Zipp Service Couse SL seatpost: Quite heavy at 240 grams
Thomson Elite seatpost: Not suitable, as the internal diameter is too small to fit a Di2 battery.
The weight reduction is a bonus, to make this Focus Paralane just a bit lighter. I am happy that I have finally found a good seat post to enable the correct pedaling ergonomics on this bike.
