With the bottom bracket issue settled, now I can continue to assemble the Specialized Aethos. For the components, I am mostly using the Dura-Ace R9270 components which were previously installed on the Focus Paralane. I decided to use the Dura-Ace components on this Aethos, while I will install a new set of Ultegra 12 speed components on the Focus Paralane instead.
This is a new set and not transferred over from the Focus Paralane.
XTR/Dura-Ace M9100 12 speed chain. This is the weight after cutting to the correct length.
As for the Di2 shifters and hydraulic brakes, it was too much trouble to move them from one bike to another, as the system has to be rebled, while there is also internal routing at the handlebar area. In this case, I left the original Dura-Ace shifters and brake calipers on the Focus Paralane, while getting a new set for the Specialized Aethos.
This is the J-Kit version, where the shifters and brake calipers are already bled and ready to use after connecting them together.
The assembly process is similar to how it was done on the Focus Paralane, check out that post if you want to understand that in more detail.
With most of the components installed and the hydraulic brakes bled.
New set of Dura-Ace shifters installed on the Specialized Aethos. Very similar to the Ultegra version.
Assembling this Specialized Aethos was easier compared to the Focus Paralane as I already had some experience. What is left is just to put on the wheels and the bike would be completed!
